2011 Area M Walk-a-thon - May 21, 2011
|
|
Many thanks to all that walked on Saturday, May 21st. We had a good time! Around 30 people showed up to show their support, contributing over $3,700.00 to our program.
GREAT JOB!
Our top donation prize went to our very own Duane Hazzard who collected over $1,500 and our top team was “Team Brianna” bringing in over $800.00

2011 Spring Classic - May 14, 2011

The Spring Classic Invitational held at Susquenita High School was a huge success. We had visiting programs from Adams, Bedford, Bucks, Chester, Clinton, Centre, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Tioga, and York. All three venues of Basketball, Softball and Athletics were able to get in their competitions completed in spite of the rain that took place off and on all day.
Many thanks to everyone that helped to make the day a success. A special thanks goes out to the Pennsylvania Constables Association. They continue to support our program when ever we need them. They were completely in charge of cooking and serving lunch to the little over 600 that attended.

2011 FEW Adult Games - April 4, 2011

Everyone had a super day at Adult Games on Saturday, April 30th. So many ribbons were earned by our Adult Athletes. CE the DJ did a great job giving the athletes every free second they could find to DANCE..DANCE..DANCE!
The food was excellent and the Officers pinning the ribbons on the chest of the athletes made the day even more special. From the Adult Athletes of Area M many thanks to the Adult Games Committee for making this day happen for them. We are a blessed program.

2011 Area M Games at Messiah College - April 4, 2011

We were truly blessed this year with a break in the rainy weather for a wonderful games day.
Over 1,000 athletes attended from our 26 school districts and our adult community. It was a day packed full of rushing from one event to the next. From all the feed back we have received here in the office, everyone had a GREAT DAY. Mark your calendars for April 19, 2012 for the 43rd Annual Area M Games!!

2011 Polar Bear Plunge - February 5, 2011

As expected the weather was frightening as usual. Cold and icy and just plan yucky….but…...it was a FABULOUS DAY!!
Over a 1,000 people registered to take the plunge in the freezing Susquehanna River water. “Shiver in the River” and that’s exactly what they did. The excitement was in the air. These brave soles in support of Special Olympics raised over $190,000.00 !
We can never thank everyone that participated enough. From the organizing committee to the day of volunteers and all the WONDERFUL PLUNGERS we appreciate all you do for the athletes of Special Olympics.
Mark the date for next year FEBRUARY 4, 2012!
